Adult and Para Programs

Collegiate Racing

The Collegiate Program is for college students, experienced paddlers and beginners alike, 18 years of age or older. This program includes a full-time program paddling 5+ times a week and 2+ gym sessions. The collegiate program is monitored closely by Coach Chris Barlow who writes the weekly/monthly program. We have a scholarship program with Point Loma University, too - please inquire!

Local colleges and universities include:

Senior Racing

We have Senior racing programs for both Sprint Canoe, and Sprint Kayak/Surfski paddlers. Both groups are led by expert coaches focused on achieving elite performances. This group is not only for elite athletes however; any senior athletes serious about their training are welcome.

To join, apply below, and we will get in touch.

Para-athletes

Our sport isn’t just in the Olympics, it’s in the Paralympics as well! If you’re interested in a conversation about Para/Adaptive paddling, please get in touch by filling our the application below.

Guest Paddler

Members of SDCKT are welcome to bring friends down for a day of paddling. They MUST be accompanied by a SDCKT member during all paddling sessions or attend one of the SDCKT set practices.

SDCKT also welcomes out of town and International Paddlers to our club to paddle with other club members or at set practices.

If you are an experienced, competitive paddler we welcome you to join the Racing Team for a paddle. Contact us to jump into a team practice.

SDCKT does not rent boats to the public.

Members are responsible for the actions of their guests and any damage that may occur.

SDCKT is a non-profit organization and contributions are gratefully accepted.

Masters

Our Masters program is for those who want to stay on the water and use our resources and facilities. While not part of any of our specific training groups, Masters members have access to team facilities and equipment, and occasional coaching when desired.

Adult Beginner/Parent Associate

If you have a child in an SDCKT program and are interested in paddling, consider signing up for a Parent Associate membership. You will be able to paddle during scheduled workouts once equipment has been allocated to Junior Paddlers.

We are also working on starting an adult beginner program for those new to paddling who would like some guidance as they’re getting familiar with the water. Stay tuned for future updates!

Team Building Events

SDCKT offers a Learn To Paddle Day at the Bay for your group, team or organization.
