Home Learning Community Intro to Paddling Info and Application

The Intro to Paddling class is for kids (age 8+) who would like to discover the sport of paddling. We teach water safety, basic boating safety, self rescue skills and paddling technique in kayaks, surfskis, high-kneel canoes, and SUPs (Stand-Up Paddleboards). Upon completion of one of our sessions, kids are welcome and encouraged to join our Development Team to continue their paddling journey!

Important Information

  • Participants should have basic swimming skills. They will need to demonstrate that they can tread water and keep themselves afloat with the aid of a life jacket.

  • Our club is located at the Youth Aquatic Center, 1750 Fiesta Island Rd, San Diego Ca 92109

  • Class hours are on Fridays from 11am - 1pm from Sept 6th to Nov 8th, 2024

  • Each session lasts 10 weeks. At the end of the session, campers wishing to continue their paddling journey may be able to join our Development Team.

  • Registration is $250 for the full 10 weeks of classes, which is subsidized by the California Division of Boating and Waterways. This allows us to keep the costs down. After filling out the the application and waiver, you will be invoiced which will be sent to your email via QuickBooks.
